Signal Peak is the high point of the Kofa Mountains, a range within the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge known for its jagged, volcanic remnant peaks. A use trial starting from Kofa Queen Canyon Road leads all the way to the summit, keeping things Class 2 or below. Ten Ewe Mountain is a short Class 3 detour from Signal Peak and offers great views of the southern reaches of the range. To get to the Signal Peak Trailhead from US Route 95, head east along Palm Canyon Road for 3.4 miles then turn left onto Kofa Queen Canyon Road. The last several miles of road inside the canyon are deteriorated, requiring a 4x4 vehicle with good tires.
